What Are The Natural Remedies For Hair Fall

Many people face hair loss owing to hereditary problems, medication, or chemical treatments done on their hair. Although it is normal to shed hair everyday, some people face excessive hair fall. There are several natural and homemade remedies that can be used to combat hair fall.

Remedies For Hair Fall

Hot Oil Treatment

One of the most commonly used methods is the hot oil treatment. Hot oil applied to the hair helps moisturise the hair and prevents hair fall due to dryness. You can use various oils for this purpose such as coconut oil, jasmine oil, and almond oil. Additionally, massaging your hair is beneficial as it increases the circulation of blood to the scalp encouraging hair growth.

Rosemary

You can also boil rosemary, sage, nettle, and other such herbs in water, and use this water to rinse your hair. These herbs are effective in slowing down hair loss as they contain several minerals that are beneficial for your hair. In addition, they also leave your hair feeling fragrant and fresh.

Egg And Honey

Another popular method is the application of egg and honey to the hair. Eggs are extremely rich in protein and make the hair follicle stronger and thicker. This prevents easy breakage and split ends. Honey, on the other hand, is a natural moisturiser and adds shine to the hair. However, make sure that you do not wash your hair with warm or hot water, otherwise the egg and honey will stick to your hair.

Fenugreek Leaves

The next method requires a little more time and effort. It involves boiling and grinding fenugreek leaves with water. Fenugreek contains a large amount of lecithin, a natural emollient known to strengthen hair, thereby reducing hair fall.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has been extensively used to promote hair growth. Aloe helps preserve the pH balance of your scalp while cleansing your pores, thus removing any harmful pollutants that are present in your hair. Moreover, aloe is also an excellent anti-bacterial and anti-microbial agent, and keeps your hair damage free. This helps to prevent hair loss which is caused by any pollutants or contaminants.

Henna

Henna is widely used in the Indian subcontinent against hair fall.  Henna is useful is repairing the hair shaft and sealing the hair cuticles thus minimising hair fall. However, do keep in mind that prolonged use of henna can make your hair turn a slight shade of red.

As we have seen, there are a variety of natural remedies available for your hair; it is up to you to make the right choice. However, make sure you fully understand the benefits and side effects of all products before applying them to your hair. Natural remedies are free of side effects, but usage of a remedy for dry hair on oily or vice versa can be problematic, so make sure about the products or remedies you use.
