One of the first things that you should do is to massage your scalp. Use warm coconut or olive oil on your scalp. You can add strips of lemon peel to the oil. This oil can be left out in the sun so that the essence of the lemon peel can mix with the oil. This oil can help your hair become less dry. If you don’t want to do this, you can simply use fresh lemon juice on your scalp. This can be left on for at least half and hour and then washed off. Aloe Vera gel is also an effective remedy to dry scalp. You can apply to hair that has already been oiled. Rub this in with the tips of your finger and allow this sufficient time to dry. Washing your hair after this will leave your hair feeling soft and silky.   You will find neem an effective remedy for your dry scalp. You can grind the leaves of the tree and apply this on your scalp. If you can’t find neem leaves, you are sure to find neem oil.


You can soak one fourth cup of oatmeal in half a cup of water. After twenty minutes strain the oatmeal and remove the liquid. To the liquid you can add five drops of lavender oil. You can also add five drops of rosemary. This liquid should be allowed to cool. This can be left on the scalp for at least twenty minutes and then washed off. You will find that applying some sour yogurt will stop your scalp itching. If sour yogurt is not available, you can simply leave out the yogurt overnight and then apply this on your scalp in the morning. This should be left on the scalp for half an hour and then washed off. Fenugreek seeds are also very effective in treating a dry scalp. For this you will have to soak three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in half a cup of water overnight. In the morning this can be ground to a paste which can be applied to the scalp. Regular application of this will definitely help reduce the itchiness of your scalp.
