Constipation Cure – Know Causes Of Constipation And Home Remedies

Constipation Causes And Symptoms

Constipation is a digestive disorder in which the person finds it difficult to defecate, as the feces become too hard and dry. This happens when the food moves along the intestinal tract too slowly and the colon absorbs too much water from it. The most common symptoms of this condition are slow and irregular bowel movements, painful and infrequent passage of stools and occasional stomach cramps. The primary cause behind constipation is an unbalanced diet. Irregular meal timings, excessive consumption of fat-rich and spicy food, and stress and anxiety cause constipation.

Home Remedies For Constipation

The most effective way to treat constipation is to rectify the dietary imbalances that cause this condition. Drink at least eight to ten glasses of water every day. This ensures easy and regular bowel movements and prevents feces from hardening. Water is also a natural cleanser that flushes out accumulated wastes from the intestinal tract. Eat lots of fibrous foodstuff like fruits, raw and leafy vegetables and whole wheat bread. These naturally regularize bowel movements and prevent constipation. Avoid meat based food items, and whenever you have a heavy meal, make sure that you consume lots of salads to facilitate digestion. You can also follow up a heavy meal with a few slices of raw papaya in order to ensure easy bowel movements, as this fruit acts as a natural laxative. Always make sure that you maintain a gap of at least four hours between meals, so that food gets digested properly. Avoid overeating at all times and never eat hurriedly. Drinking a glass of warm milk before going to bed every night is also helpful in ensuring proper bowel movements in the morning. You may also mix a little almond oil in a glass of milk for better results. For another remedy, mix a teaspoon of honey and the juice of a lemon in a glass of lukewarm water and drink this solution every morning on an empty stomach. You could also mix equal quantities of carrot juice and spinach juice and drink a glass of this solution before going to bed every night. A very popular remedy for constipation is to eat bael fruit regularly. The fiber of this fruit acts as a laxative and naturally heals the alimentary canal. Guavas are also a rich natural source of roughage and should be consumed daily to avoid constipation. You may also extract the juice of a cabbage and drink small portions of it before every meal. Cabbage has high water content and is rich in fiber, so it effectively cures constipation.
