Stomach Worm: Types, Causes, Symptoms And Preventive Steps

What Cause Stomach Worm And How To Prevent It

Stomach worms are parasites that invade the human body through food and cause various digestive disorders. Sometimes the eggs of these worms can enter the body through bare feet. Generally, children are more vulnerable to intestinal worms than adults. There are various kinds of stomach worms: ringworms, hookworms, tapeworms and threadworms. The symptoms of this condition range from itchiness in the rectal area, restless sleep and diarrhea to nausea, vomiting, loss of weight and anemia. Mostly, it is the lack of hygiene that provides the suitable conditions for worms to enter and breed in the body. Worms easily enter the body through the mouth via dirty fingers, so it is imperative that both children and adults take care to wash their hands well before eating. Sometimes undercooked food, especially meat dishes, also carries the eggs of these worms into the body, so ensure that any meat product is well cooked. Also ensure that the fruits and vegetables you eat have been properly washed before consumption, as they may have breeding worms on their surface. Contaminated water is another means by which worms infect the human body, so drinking water should be obtained only from a clean source.

Treatments For Stomach Worm

Besides these general preventive measures, you should adopt an all-fruit diet for a few days if the symptoms of stomach worms occur. This is an effective natural way of cleansing the system of any toxic wastes in the digestive tract as well as the parasites that cause the trouble. Eat raw vegetables and fruits in your diet and avoid oily foodstuff having high fat content. For breakfast, have only a cup of finely grated carrot for a few days with no other accompanying food. This is an effective way of getting rid of worms. You could also crush a few dried Margosa leaves and add as tablespoon of this powder into a glass of hot water or milk. Drinking this solution twice a day for a week cures worms. For another remedy, crush 8-10 cloves of garlic and soak them in a cup of water overnight. Next morning use this solution as an enema. You may also chew a few cloves of garlic every morning, as the strong chemicals present in it effectively kill worms. Another popular remedy is to drink a glass of buttermilk into which a tablespoon of bitter gourd juice has been mixed. In addition, grind a few papaya seeds and mix them well in a glass of warm milk. Drink this solution at bedtime for a couple of nights to treat worms.
