Very often hormonal disorders and excessive stress can also cause the hair to start graying prematurely. Nobody likes gray hair and especially not when they are still young and thus people resort to coloring or dying the hair using the synthetic coloring agents available in the market. However the chemicals in these hair colors can damage the hair over a long period, leaving it dry and brittle, so it is best advised to use natural methods to darken the hair and prevent premature graying.



Herbal Treatment For Gray Hair


One of the most popular and effective herbal remedies for premature graying of the hair uses the fruit of the Indian gooseberry. This fruit is used as an effective tonic for improving the health of the hair - the texture and pigmentation of the hair. The best way to use the fruit for darkening the hair naturally and preventing further graying of the hair is to dry it naturally in the sun, after which, it should boiled with some coconut oil till the oil turns black. This oil can be stored in a bottle and used to massage the scalp every week around an hour before the hair is washed. Alternately a few pieces of  dried Indian gooseberry fruit can be soaked overnight in water and this water can be gently massaged into the scalp and applied on the hair covering it from the roots to the tips and left in the hour for around an hour before it is washed. Yet another effective way to use Indian gooseberry is to massage the scalp using a mixture of almond oil, lemon juice and 1 tsp of Indian gooseberry juice the night before the hair has to be washed. Curry leaves can be used in food preparations to improve the health of the hair and encourage natural pigmentation, thus preventing premature graying of hair. Alternately they can be boiled with some coconut oil and the oil can be used to massage the scalp regularly. Similarly ribbed ground can also be dried in the sun, along with the peel and then boiled with some coconut oil and used to regularly massage the scalp to prevent premature graying of hair.
