Yoga for abs: yoga ab exercises

Yoga is a fantastic technique for calming the mind, body and soul. It’s also a great way to lose fat, especially from those bulgy areas like the abdominal and hip regions. Yoga comprises of various breathing and stretching exercises, which help you to build lean muscle and also lose fat especially that irksome belly fat.

There are various poses or techniques, which you can apply to start losing the inches off your waist today. Firstly there is the Mountain Pose. It’s a very simple position and technique, which involves bending your waist sideways. Firstly put your arms high above your head with your fingers pointing straight up. Then slowly bend towards one side making sure, you are fully stretched and your body aligned. Be careful not to stretch too far. Hold this position for at least 30 seconds and then shift to the other side. Try this technique at least 5 times.

Another very beneficial position is the Torso Stretch. This is also fairly simple and involves lifting your back and upper body while stretching your abs at the same time. To start with, place a mat on the floor and lie down on your stomach with your hands besides your waist and your arms close to the chest. Now slowly raise your back by keeping your legs and feet firmly placed on the ground. Your upper body should be stretched with you arms totally straight on the floor. Maintain this position for 30 to 45 seconds and come back to a relaxing position.

There is another great technique to build strong abs. It’s called the bending forward pose. Sit on the floor and stretch your legs. Now slowly bend forward with your fingers pointing straight towards your toes and hold this position for at least 30 seconds and then come back to the starting position. Ensure that you don’t stretch yourself too much as this may strain your back muscles and cause further injury.

The best part about Yoga exercises is that they can be practiced by beginners. The exercises are fairly simple and at the same time very effective. A few weeks of Yoga can go a long way in building those flat abs, which you have always dreamed off. The important things to remember in Yoga are that various positions and breathing techniques have to be practiced in perfect harmony to maintain the balance of the mind and soul.
