How To Remove Blackheads With Home Remedies
Blackhead Treatment And Removal
Blackheads are formed when oil and dust accumulate in and clog the pores on the surface of the skin. The sebaceous glands that lie beneath the surface of the skin secrete an oily substance called sebum, which gives the skin its natural texture and softness. However, when there is an excessive secretion of sebum, or when the face is not cleaned properly and regularly, the sebum rises to the pores of the skin and comes into contact with dirt and air, and then gets trapped and turns darkish in color. These dark spots are called blackheads.
The most effective way of preventing the appearance of blackheads is to keep your face clean and oil-free all the time. Use a mild cleanser and cold water to wash your face frequently. Steam baths are also helpful in opining up clogged skin pores and getting rid of blackheads. Drink plenty of water every day to keep your skin naturally well moisturized. Eat lots of fruits and raw vegetables, as they keep the skin naturally moisturized. Also make sure that you do not use dirty and unwashed towels and bed linen, as dirt and oil accumulate on these over time and can cause your face to become excessively oily and prone to blackheads. Stay away from junk food and oily foodstuff, as these tend to make the skin excessively oily. Remember to remove all make-up from your face before going to bed, as cosmetics contain oils that make the skin prone to blackheads. Besides these, you can use a few home remedies for blackheads. Make a face pack by mixing equal portions of sandalwood powder and turmeric and adding milk to it. While both sandalwood and turmeric have natural antiseptic properties that effectively cleanse the face, milk is a natural moisturizer that nourishes the skin. You can also mix the juice of a fresh lemon into a glass of boiled milk and use this as a face wash. For another remedy, grind a few fenugreek leaves to a pulp and apply this on the face before going to bed every night. Wash your face with water the next morning. You may also use a few grated potatoes as a poultice on your face to get rid of blackheads. In addition, scrub your face with a mixture of honey, yoghurt and salt every day to cleanse your face. Another excellent natural exfoliating agent is egg white, which you can use regularly on your face.
