Nail Care For Man And Women: Care Your Nail Naturally
Nail Care Tips
Nail care is the most ignored aspect in male grooming. Even women, tend to take less care of it than needed, using a nail color to hide the real texture of the nail. Your nails are in fact a direct indicator of your health since they are among the first to display deficiencies in your diet. A few simple nail care tips if followed sincerely, can keep those nails in the pink of health.
Nail Care Diet
As mentioned before, diet is the most significant aspects of nail care. Vitamin A and calcium deficiencies can make your nails extremely dry and brittle. To avoid this, supplement your diet with these nutrients. Eating carrots and milk products will help. Folic acid and vitamin C too are essential for healthy nails. Beetroot and sweet potatoes are an excellent source of the vitamin C, while fruits like bananas, oranges and nuts are rich in folic acid. Insufficient protein can result in white bands on your nails, so it is advised that you consume a fish, meat, beans and other protein-rich food.
Nail Cutting Or Cleaning
Caution has to be exercised while cleaning or cutting your nail too. Use soft nail brushes when cleaning and never cut the cuticles using a nail-cutter. Use a cuticle stick if necessary, or better still, a liquid cuticle remover. After cleaning, massage cream into the cuticle gently. One has to be careful when removing nail polish too. Needless to say, never use your nails or any other sharp instrument for this purpose. Soak cotton wool in remover and gently wipe the paint off paying special attention to the corners. After cutting, always file your nails as this prevents splitting and flaking.
Almond oil too is very useful in nail care. Prepare a cream of almond oil with honey. Massage it onto your nails especially the corners and the base and leave it on overnight. Repeat this daily. In about a week’s time you will start to see the improvement. Lemon juice can also be used as a whitening agent on nails. Apply it on to the nails and leave it on for about fifteen minutes. Wash off with warm water to find your nails sparkling new. However, always follow this up with a moisturizing cream, preferably herbal, since lemon juice can be quite drying for your nails. Rose water and glycerin will help too.
Avoid very hot water when washing hands. Use lukewarm water instead. Exercise your fingers regularly by gently pulling at fingertips as this improves circulation.
