Nail Hardener – A Way To Make Your Nail Stronger And Protected

Nail Hardener Ingredients For Healthy Nail

Everyone loves to have beautiful nails and to enhance the look of the nails various products are used on them. In particular, we use nail polish and nail polish remover most often. Many of these products contain strong chemicals, and with repeated use they may start to affect the nails adversely. Excessive use of nail polish and other chemicals on the nails makes them brittle. Besides nail polish, chemical solvents and detergents can also dehydrate the nail plates and make them brittle. As a result nails break or chip more easily, giving a bad appearance.

Nail care often takes a back seat because of our hectic lifestyle. It is ignored most of the time because it does not lead to pain or other serious conditions. However, good nails are a part of good grooming and chipped or broken nails may often cause embarrassment and awkwardness in social circles.

One of the methods to avoid this is to use a nail hardener – there are solutions containing additives that provide strength to the nails. Some of the common ingredients of commercially available nail hardeners are formaldehyde, hydrolyzed proteins, glycerin, metal salts, vegetable extracts, propylene glycol, and nylon fibers. Nail hardeners usually work in two ways – either by providing a coating on your nails, or by penetrating deep inside the nail plate and reacting with the proteins to grow tougher nails. Ideally, nail hardeners should be used as a first coat before you apply a nail polish. Even when you do not use a nail polish, you should keep your nails coated with nail hardeners to protect them from any damage.

There are several nail hardeners available in the market that you can use. However, you should be looking for a nail hardener that contains formaldehyde, gelatin, trace minerals, vitamins, calcium, and hydrolyzed proteins.

Sunflower oil is considered to be a good natural nail hardener. It has useful substances like stearic acid and vitamin E that are can help the nails grow stronger. Olive oil can also be used as a natural nail hardener. You can use olive oil in the same way sunflower oil is used.

Besides these you should also follow good nutrition and proper nail treatment and care. Keep your nails moisturized properly and eat a diet that is rich in Vitamin A, E, and biotin. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, and soybeans should be eaten regularly.
