Hearing Loss Treatment – Tips To Prevent Hear Loss And Ailments
Causes And Treatment Of Hear Loss
Hearing loss is not commonly an affliction noticed in youngsters. People who have advanced in age tend to experience this more as a result of wear and tear to their body parts and thus take it as a natural part of aging. But this does not state that younger people will not experience it. Even though young people will experience hearing loss or diminishing hearing capacity, it will more likely be due to the direct result of not taking care of their ears or because of introducing sharp and dangerous foreign objects into the auditory canal. Hearing loss can be caused by a huge number of factors. From something as simple as a constant build up of ear wax, causing the external ear canal to be blocked; to infections of the middle ear. Another very common reason for ear damage resulting in loss is a perforated tympanic membrane which is the result of direct trauma such as an invasive cotton swab or stray finger. Damage can also be caused by extremely loud sounds and proximity to the source. Damage can be caused over a large period of time as well. Constant ear exposure to loud noises or pressure like those experienced by deep sea divers will also have an effect. Hearing loss builds up over time, so much so that the person experiencing it may only become aware of it when it reaches an advanced stage. Most of the time, the individual’s family and friends realize it before the person experiencing it does. Infections like mumps, syphilis and meningitis can also lead to loss of hearing.
In order to prevent loss of hearing, it is essential that you protect your ears. When around loud appliances or machinery, always wear ear protection. When listening to music on a set of headphones, make sure it isn’t too loud as this could damage the ear drum. Limit the consumption of alcohol and sugars as they encourage the growth of yeast which aids hear loss. Also minimize your intake of caffeine and chocolate. To treat hear loss; eat fresh pineapple. In case of some inflammation in the ear, create eardrops by pounding fenugreek seeds and putting them in hot oil. Then filter and cool it to a bearable temperature. If there is a build up of earwax, remove it by creating a solution of 1 part vinegar and 1 part of water. Put this in your ear with the help on an eyedropper, let it rest for a minute and then drain. This will loosen the ear wax and clear ear blockage
