Wisdom Tooth Pain – How To Get Relief Of Wisdom Teeth And Jaw Pain

Wisdom Tooth Pain And Symptoms

Wisdom teeth are the last to surface in the development stages of teeth. They are also the ones that cause the most amount of pain while surfacing. Wisdom teeth can crop up at any time between the ages of sixteen and twenty five. In some exceptional cases they may make an appearance after the age of twenty five. Wisdom teeth are a set of four teeth, two in the upper jaw and two in the lower one, but it is not necessary that a person will develop all four. Some people may develop just one, some a few more and others all four. The growth of wisdom teeth is considered to be a sign of maturity. In most cases, the teeth on the lower jaw develop first and the upper jaw gets its wisdom teeth a little later. Some people will experience more pain with the development of the first wisdom tooth than with the other three. A lot of people will experience a lot of pain as a result of there being insufficient space on the jaw to accommodate the new tooth. Teeth that tend to face this problem may expose themselves only partially from the jaw. These teeth are known as impacted wisdom teeth. This could potentially lead to other dental complications. You will know when wisdom teeth are about to erupt as you will notice a swelling at the end of the jaw where the wisdom tooth is about to erupt, bad breath and a repulsive taste in the mouth, an uneasiness in chewing food and a breaking of the gum at the location of the tooth. Because of the pain, a number of people choose to remove the tooth completely. However, some complications may arise as a result. A few of them are: infection, a lingering pain in the jaw, sinus complications and nerve damage in the lower jaw.

To cope with the pain, try applying some clove oil or dilute it with olive oil over the location of the tooth. For temporary relief, apply a mixture of one clove of garlic combined with a pinch of rock salt. Chew a clove of garlic with a bit of rock salt as it helps destroy the bacteria which cause tooth decay. You can also place a piece of onion next to the bad tooth to perform the same action. In order to keep your teeth healthy, eat some lime as it is rich in Vitamin C. Vitamin C not only helps in maintenance of the teeth but also prevents tooth decay and loosening of the teeth.
