Remedies For Dandruff – How To Get Rid Of Dandruff With Natural Remedies

Natural Dandruff Remedies

Dandruff is a common problem in which the thin outer layer of the scalp breaks into very small pieces and infests the hair as silvery white flakes. These small flakes often fall on the eyebrows, neck and shoulders and become a cause of embarrassment. If allowed to persist, dandruff exposes the scalp to the risk of bacterial infections. Dandruff can spread very easily from one person through sharing combs, towels and hats. The main reasons behind dandruff are poor personal hygiene, deficiency of zinc in the diet, excessive use of alkaline shampoos, and microbial infections on the scalp.

There are several simple home remedies to get rid of dandruff. One of the most popular natural means of treating this problem is to soak a few slices or peels of lemon in a cup of coconut oil and leave this mixture out in the sun for about a week. Then collect the clear extract and massage your scalp with it every day. You will get rid of dandruff in a few days. Hot oil therapy is also very beneficial for treating dandruff. Treat your hair to a steam bath for about10 minutes and then massage the scalp and the hair with mildly heated olive or coconut oil. Now wrap up your hair with a soft towel and leave it on for at least half an hour before rinsing your hair with water at room temperature. You may also extract the juice of snake gourd and massage your scalp with this every day to treat dandruff. Also, a mixture of equal parts of ginger juice or beetroot juice and vinegar is useful in treating dandruff when applied regularly on the scalp and hair. For another remedy, make a mixture of two tablespoons each of apple juice and warm water and apply this solution on your hair. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse away with cold water. Following this remedy thrice a week helps prevent and cure dandruff. Another remedy is to use some apple cider vinegar for the final rinse after shampooing every time you wash your hair. In addition, you should soak two tablespoons of fenugreek in half a cup of water overnight, grind it to a fine paste the next morning and apply it on the scalp. After about an hour, wash the paste away using soap-nut solution. Following this procedure once a week keeps dandruff away.
