Hair Loss Treatment For Children: How To Boost Hair Growth
Hair Treatment For Children
It is quite normal to lose 20-100 strands of hair every day. However, sometimes the rate of hair loss exceeds the rate at which new hair grows and causes thinning of the mass of hair. The problem is caused mostly due to certain nutritional deficiencies and a faulty lifestyle. Sometimes even children may suffer from unusual loss of hair because of these reasons.
There are a few basic rules that you should follow to deal with this problem. Eating a protein-rich diet is crucial to normal hair growth, as hair is chiefly constituted with a kind of protein called keratin. The child should eat lots of whole grains and pulses, nuts, sprouts, cereals, eggs, soy and dairy products to make up for the deficiency of protein that may be the cause behind the problem. Also, include fresh fruits and raw vegetables in the child’s diet in order to supply essential vitamins and minerals to the hair follicles through the bloodstream, as these enhance the rate and density of hair growth. It is also recommended that you make the child drink at least 10 glasses of water every day in order to improve blood circulation in the scalp and thereby stimulate the sebaceous glands and the hair follicles underneath the scalp to produce hair at a faster rate. It is also important that your child gets enough sleep and rest in order that her/his hair remains healthy. Hair loss in children is also commonly caused by scalp infections and head lice. In order to destroy microbial growth on the scalp, you should apply lime juice at the roots of the hair every day for a week. One of the easiest and most effective ways of promoting hair growth is to massage the scalp with fingers after washing the hair for a few minutes. Gradually, a warm, tingling sensation spreads out across the scalp. This stimulates the hair follicles to produce stronger, thicker hair. An effective home remedy for premature hair loss is to massage the scalp with the juice of fresh mint leaves every day. You may also make the child chew a few fresh curry leaves every morning or drink a glass of buttermilk to which you have added the juice of curry leaves. You will notice an improvement in the quality and volume of your child’s hair in a few weeks. Soaking a handful of fenugreek seeds in a cup of water overnight and applying this water on the scalp the next morning also helps treat hair loss in children.
