This can be done by taking a teaspoon full of baking soda and adding it to a glass of warm water. Then try to use this concoction to gargle with. This treatment can be repeated as many times during the course of the day as required. Next you can even try to make a paste out of the baking soda along with some water and try applying this to the canker sore to help in providing some relief. Another equally good option to make a rinse out of is some plum juice. Try to take either 1 or 2 tablespoons of plum juice and use it as a mouth wash to help in getting rid of the canker sores. Otherwise, another method includes taking a cotton ball and totally saturating it with the plum juice. Then apply this cotton ball to the affected area. It helps in providing some pain relief and also in helping to heal the sore.


Alum is another useful ingredient that is helpful in treating this problem. Simply try applying some alum directly to the canker sore. It may cause some initial stinging but that will gradually disappear. This helps in relieving the pain. After a while rinse the mouth well and repeat this treatment twice or maybe thrice a day for best results. One can even use a tea bag to help in treating a canker sore. Simply try pressing a wet tea bag to the sore area for a few minutes. A tea contains a product known as tannins which are great in helping to alleviate any pain. Even tea oil can be used in treating these sores as tea oil contains certain anti bacterial properties
