Human eyes are known to be extremely sensitive organs and can be quite prone to various eye infections. There are various home remedies that can help a person to take care of their eyes. But the first thing one was must remember regarding their eyes is not to touch them too much. This is especially so if the eyes have an infection. One should try washing their eyes as often as possible with water. Before doing this one should ensure that the hands have been thoroughly washed with some antibacterial soap or some other medicated soap. If one is suffering from styes then a simple home remedy to treat this problem is to apply a hot compress over the eyes. This can be done with the help of a cloth that has been dipped in hot water. One can also try putting a tea bag that has been soaked in warm water over the stye and letting it stay for some minutes. This application is helpful in shrinking the stye to almost half its size. This occurs primarily because of the tannic acid that is present in the bags. Another useful treatment is the application of the some guava leaves. Try first warming up these leaves and then keeping it in a damp cloth. This compress of guava leaves in a warm cloth is very useful in reducing the infection. One can even try making a solution out of turmeric powder in a glass of warm water and using it is eye drops. The proportion is one teaspoon of turmeric powder to about a glass of water. This procedure can be repeated 2 to 3 times a day. Once can even make an eye wash out of a teaspoon of some coriander seeds and a cup of warm water. Aloe vera is very useful in treating eye problems as it has plenty of healing properties.
