Other factors that contribute to poor hair quality are unhealthy diets, medication, prolonged illness and stress.
How To Prepare Natural Hair Conditioner
There are several conditioners available over the counter but a natural hair conditioner is the best option when it comes to hair care. Coconut milk is one of the best known natural hair conditioners. It has the ability to strengthen and straighten hair, making it easy to manage. Massaging the scalp with coconut milk, just before a bath, ensures that hair is nourished from root to tip. A paste made with equal parts of mashed banana and yogurt is another excellent homemade hair conditioner. Yogurt, being acidic in nature, cleans the scalp and hair of all grime and residue while banana is know to nourish the hair right from the roots. Lightly massage this paste into the scalp, ensuring that all the hair is coated. Keep the scalp covered for approximately 15 minutes before shampooing with a mild shampoo. Another natural hair conditioner is honey as it is known to free the hair of pollutants and styling products without stripping it off its natural oils. It also prevents hair damage by forming a protective layer over the hair. In addition, honey is also known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties that help to keep scalp infections away, thus ensuring healthier hair. After a hair wash, a final rinse with a mixture of a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water is also advantageous as it balances the pH level of the hair and cleanses it effectively.
Regular scalp massages help in improving the production of natural oil to the hair follicles while enhancing blood flow. Both these factors are extremely essential for good hair. Jojoba oil is an excellent option for scalp massages as the composition is similar to that of the natural oil secreted by the sebaceous glands. Scalp massages with a blend of equal proportions of almond oil and castor oil are known to condition hair as well as delay the graying process. A blend of olive oil and dried rosemary leaves is another good remedy for dry and dull hair
