Homemade Facial Masks | Create Your Own Face Masks

A large number of people are on a perpetual quest to improve their appearance, and search for incomprehensible beauty. The billions garnered by the cosmetics industry, the rapid growth of plastic surgery as well as the millions of young adults that need psychiatric treatment to help them through their depression caused by unsatisfying looks will all testify to that. It is by no means a bad idea to improve upon what you have but most people look for the quick fixes, like cosmetic surgery, instead of trying to accomplish it through their own hard work, and some very effective and affordable home remedies. Facial masks have come a long way from being tribal methods of beautification, to a real science behind a billion dollar spa industry. Yet, most of these facial masks that you would spend hundreds of dollars to receive, can be put together in the luxury of your own home with a few items that are readily available in your kitchen or nearest grocery store. The first and most important step when concocting your own facial mask is to identify what type of skin you have. Different ingredients on your facial mask will react very differently depending on what kind of skin it comes in contact with. Decide on whether your skin is oily or dry as well as what outcome you want such as if you want glowing skin or lighter skin.

Face Masks For Different Skin Types

  • For oily skin, create a mask by adding 1 tablespoon of honey to some egg yolk and add a half cup of oatmeal and a tablespoon of olive oil to the mixture. Apply this to your face and leave it for about 20 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Alternatively, you could also combine one cup of oatmeal to 3 tablespoons of nonfat milk and use a blender to add some tomatoes. Apply and leave the mixture on your face for an hour before washing it off with warm water.

  • For dry skin, the best facial mask is one with avocado in it. Mash up some avocado, add some almond oil and apply the mixture over your face and leave it on for as long as possible before washing it off with warm water.

  • For lighter skin, blend two tablespoons of honey and half a cup of mashed papaya, apply this over the face and rinse it off after 20 minutes.

  • For glowing skin, mix three tablespoons of orange juice with half cup of honey and leave it on for 30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water.
