The Fruit Diet for Weight Management

In today’s world, it is extremely important to look your best, for both your work and personal life. There are a number of workout exercises and diets that can help with fitness and weight management. One such diet is the detoxification or detox diet, where potentially toxic substances are removed from the body. Most detox diets are short-term diets that focus on the reduction of ingestion of chemicals into the body and emphasize foods with a high vitamin and mineral content.

Managing Diet With Fruits

The fruit flush diet is an example of a detox diet. As the name suggests, the key ingredient in this diet plan is fruit. This fruit diet was developed by Jay Robb, who suggested that eating fruits effectively removes toxins from the body along with helping with weight loss in just three days. This is because the water and fiber in fruits dissolve stored toxins and flush them out aiding weight reduction. This diet is rich in vitamins and minerals, and low on sodium and potassium; it is ideal for weight management.

The fruit diet plan is very easy to follow and consists of one pre-flush day, followed by two days of fruit flushing. Between 8 am to 4 pm on the pre-flush day, you should drink ounces of protein mix every 2 hours. It is important that the protein powder is free of any sugars or artificial flavorings. This is followed by 3 to 6 ounces of fresh vegetables topped with chicken, beef or fish and 1 spoon of olive oil at 6 pm.

On the second and third day of the fruit diet, eat a serving of fresh fruit every two hours again between 8 am and 4 pm. Like day one, follow this up with fresh vegetable salad and some meat. You should drink at least 8 to 12 glasses of water everyday.

Eating such a high amount of fresh foods puts the body into a fat-burning mode while preserving muscle mass, making the body fitter. Usually, people lose up to 9 pounds in three days. You should not add anything extra to the diet or skip anything from the diet either, else it will not work.

It is a very low calorie diet, hence not a balanced one. This short-term detox plan should be supported with a long-term diet and exercise plan. It is also not ideal to follow this diet if you are already on a fat loss program. You should avoid cardio and weight training exercises for the duration of the plan as the body is not receiving adequate nutrients.
